The planning is just about finished, the fund raisers are complete, and on June 27, a group of 25 adults and youth will depart from Dunedin, FL, headed for a Mission Trip at the Dorothy Menzies Child Care Center in Belize City! For many, this is our first mission trip, and we can all feel the excitement and anticipation building. We will be working with over 80 children and teens at the center, teaching a Vacation Bible School program, working with teens on building self-confidence and following their dreams, constructing a shed at the center, teaching healthy habits, and conducting vision screens. We are anxious for our trip to begin!
The trip is next Wednesday!! I'm packing today hoping I have just the right combination of cool, light weight things. Laura and I are weighing what needs to go in the luggage this afternoon. I put my logo on a black T-shirt, and it's sort of shadowy, not the effect I wanted! Now, I wonder where my passport got off to?
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to get into a mission-mode of peace and tranquility when there are many things to do. So I am dedicating my daily yoga meditation to visualizing Belize, our group, and the people whom we will all meet on the trip. Namaste!
